Amy, a twelve year old girl, lives under a glass dome. Her friend Gus is a grumpy 100 year old tortoise, who barely survived the ravages of global warming in his younger days. Dive into their post apocalyptic world where they will shock you with their discoveries and warm your heart with their friendship. It is my great pleasure to present Amy and the Tortoise, an apocalyptic fable for kids (and adults) published as a book and produced as an award winning movie.
"What could possibly be more terrifying than seeing a child in a gas mask and living in a glass cage?"
"The art is absolutely stunning and among the best visuals I have seen in a children's book that puts an apocalyptic way of living front and center in the eyes of its readers."
"The resolution shows exactly how the removal of humans leads to restoration and healing, leaving no doubt whatsoever that we are the problem."
The pictures I've been painting for the last ten years were the inspiration to this environmental fable. I looked at the pictures and started writing words... telling the story. In reality, it's a story that has taken me ten years to tell. Now, I've put all the words and the pictures together into one big rollicking tale of environmental disaster (and redemption). It's a story that must be told, over and over again, in many different ways. It's a story that I hope will never come true. And it won't, if we can only stop destroying our home... our planet.
